Housesitting is one of our favorite ways to get around
We became full-time nomads in 2015 and turned digital in 2017. Since then, we’ve travelled, worked, and housesat all over the globe.
Whether it’s a rustic farm or luxury villa, a quick two-week stay or a six-month adventure, caring for a whole menagerie or simply keeping the lights on… each sit has been a unique experience and changed us in its own way.

Housesitting then and now
How did we go from Workaway chaos to housesitting bliss? As nomads building remote careers, we needed to pivot to find what truly works.

How we housesit
Housesitting is a personal thing, and there’s no singular way to do it… but here’s how we do it, in case you’re interested!
Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been housesitting and what’s your experience?
Previous to doing these exchanges with strangers on the internet, we’d sat occasionally for neighbors and friends. We’ve been sitting online since 2017.
We have lived in farmhouses, suburban houses, condominiums, and cottages. We’ve gotten along with all kinds of personalities and followed all sorts of routines. We’ve survived fleas, hot sun, cold snow, and relentless vacuuming. We’ve fallen in love with unforgettable animals, beautiful views, and sets of impressive kitchenware. Yes, we’re experienced… and we’d like to keep experiencing!
Why do you housesit?
We want to take care of and enjoy nature, create interesting experiences, and share in the gift/wonder of life with others.
Housesitting is a win-win for everyone – and we find it’s one of the best ways to experience a new place or culture, through the lens of someone who lives there. We also love to take care of plants and animals. Their presence is a day-to-day reminder of our interconnected-ness to the world, their personalities are a joy and a lesson.
What makes your housesitting approach unique?
As nomads, we act as pollinators, collecting and sharing new ideas everywhere we go. Joie de vivre is also a key ingredient in our approach.
Any housesitting gig can be an adventure, but what’s really magical is feeling safe and joyful with the people on the other side of the exchange. Living in someone’s home is quite a personal experience, so we find it works best (and is way more fun) when we can connect on a personal level.
What makes for a successful sit?
We believe the most successful housesits occur when people on both sides of the exchange stay curious, pay attention to detail, take initiative, and respect boundaries. This creates a sense of trust which allows for ease, playfulness and connection.
We bring our hearts to every housesit and strive to create mutually beneficial exchanges in all contexts. Establishing clear communication, asking the right questions, and offering an honest perspective is essential.
